3. Information collected through the public website
The public website may process limited technical information necessary to deliver, secure and improve the website. Zustland may use privacy-focused analytics to understand aggregate website activity and performance. Analytics used on the public website are configured to avoid unnecessary tracking. Hosting, security and infrastructure providers may separately process limited technical information or use necessary technologies as required to provide those services.
We do not currently use the public website for advertising-based behavioural profiling.
4. How we use information
We may process information for the following purposes:
- creating and authenticating accounts;
- providing identity, community and participation features;
- showing information to the appropriate community, audience or authorised participant;
- enabling announcements, events, issues, requests, passes and other supported workflows;
- sending service-related communications and notifications;

5. Community visibility and user content
Zustland is designed around communities. When you submit information or content within a community, it may be visible to other members, administrators or authorised participants according to the relevant feature, community configuration and your role.
Community administrators may have access to information necessary to administer their community. An organisation, school, housing community or other community using Zustland may also have its own rules and responsibilities concerning information it manages through the Service.
You should consider the intended audience before publishing information or content to a community.
6. Sharing and service providers
We may share information with service providers that process information on our behalf where necessary to operate the Service. Depending on the services actually in use, these may include providers for hosting and infrastructure, authentication, communications, security, diagnostics, analytics and customer support.
We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process or a lawful governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of users, communities, Zustland or others.
We do not sell personal data for advertising purposes.
7. International processing
Some infrastructure or service providers used by Zustland may process information in countries other than India. Where applicable, such processing will be subject to the requirements and safeguards prescribed by applicable law. Zustland does not make a general representation that all Service data is stored exclusively in India.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting their authentication information and should notify us promptly if they believe an account or security credential has been compromised.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, maintain security, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymise personal data associated with the account that we are required to delete, subject to information that we are required or permitted to retain for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or other legitimate purposes.
10. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on the law applicable to you and the circumstances of processing, you may have rights relating to access to information about processing, correction, updating, erasure or deletion, withdrawal of consent where consent is the applicable basis, grievance redressal and other rights available under applicable data-protection law. Where applicable, this may include rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules made under it.
Where processing is based on consent and applicable law gives you a right to withdraw that consent, you may request withdrawal by contacting [email protected] or by using any withdrawal control made available in the relevant Service feature. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or processing that may lawfully continue on another basis.
Requests may be submitted to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Account deletion
If you have a Zustland account, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data through the mechanism provided by the Service. An external account-deletion request page is available at zustland.com/delete-account.
12. Children and educational communities
Zustland is intended for users aged 13 and above. Where applicable law establishes a higher minimum age or requires parental or guardian consent or other safeguards, those requirements apply.
Zustland may support schools and other educational communities. The availability of a school or educational community does not by itself mean that the public website is directed to children. Where the Service is used in a school or other community involving children, the applicable community arrangements, permissions and legal requirements may apply depending on the feature and circumstances.
Where applicable law imposes additional requirements for processing children's personal data, including requirements concerning consent, monitoring, profiling, advertising or other processing, Zustland will apply those requirements to the extent they apply to the relevant processing. We do not use the public website for targeted advertising to children.
For our standards concerning child sexual abuse and exploitation, prohibited child-safety conduct, reporting and enforcement, see our Child Safety Standards.
13. Cookies and similar technologies
The public website may use essential cookies or similar technologies where necessary for security, functionality, authentication or session management. The Zustland application may use authentication and session cookies or similar technologies to keep users signed in, maintain secure sessions and support requested features. The specific cookies or technologies used may vary by product version and feature.
Zustland may use privacy-focused analytics on the public website for aggregate website activity and performance. Analytics are configured to avoid unnecessary tracking. Hosting, security and infrastructure services may separately use necessary technologies to provide security, delivery and related services.
We do not currently use the public website for advertising-based behavioural profiling. If we introduce non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising or similar technologies that materially change how personal data is processed, this policy will be updated and any consent mechanism required by law will be provided.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves, our processing changes or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
